Someone once defined a Church as an institution that exists for the benefit of its non-members! The Bible certainly encourages Churches to look outward, to contribute to the community in which they live. One of our most important responsibilities is to be the voice of authentic Christianity in a society which is full of confused philosophical ideas. There are many competing voices. We recognize that the Christian faith is something that should be discussed. So we try to answer the questions people have today about the Bible’s message.
We do this by creating opportunities for people from various backgrounds and belief systems to engage in dialogue about Christianity. Some people in our society argue that it is “intolerant” to present the claims of Christianity for others to consider. Ironically, this position is itself intolerant, because it demands that anyone who doesn’t subscribe to the prevailing worldview should be silenced. We certainly believe that those who consider the Christian message to be important and true should be permitted to present their case in a courteous and respectful way.
