Crescent Church - Welcome

Our Values

"We are not only committed to Christ, we are committed to the body of Christ.  Indeed we cannot be one without the other.  For the church lies at the centre of the purpose of God.  God’s purpose, conceived in a past eternity, being worked out in history, to be perfected in a future eternity, is not just to save isolated individuals and so perpetuate our loneliness, but rather to call out a people for himself and build his church." - John Stott

Every local Church has its own ethos and sense of identity.  You can get a sense of our values by browsing through the whole site, but in this section we highlight four key values which have grown in the fellowship since its inception over a century ago.

Not everything should stay the same in Church life. The way a Church ministers to the society around it must always adapt. The Bible’s message never changes, of course; nor do the Biblical principles governing Church life. But the effectiveness of our engagement with society must always be reviewed carefully. We believe that the process of adapting to changes in society should be conducted in a thoughtful and patient manner. Progress should never be measured in terms of a reaction against the past.
