Crescent Church supports a large number of different ministries and activities in the community. All these activities are undertaken by members of the Church. We are passionately convinced that the Church should offer every single member opportunities to serve Jesus Christ. It is not a provider of services designed to attract consumers, it is an environment where people can serve.
Christian ministry is often misunderstood. Christian service is not primarily about standing up at a lectern on a Sunday. The bedrock of Christian ministry is ordinary, day-to-day work which often goes unseen.
Most Christian services involves ordinary people doing ordinary things. We believe in the Biblical principle that every member is equal in Christ. No one gets treated differently: we are all servants of Jesus Christ. But we also hold to the principle that not every servant has the same role.
God allocates us roles which complement, rather than compete with, other roles: He gives certain roles to women, and others to men; similarly, He does not call everyone to teach the Bible or to be good administrators. One of the great things about Church is that we can all serve in different ways, while still serving the same Lord.
